Mug prices soar in the New Year

Mug prices soar in the New Year

On 15th November 2012, the EU Commission increased duty on all imported ceramic products from China to between 17.6% and 58.8%.

Most member states were opposed to this rise, however the new higher tax has been implemented.

This tax increase directly affects the price of promotional mugs and other ceramic and bone china products in the UK and across Europe, as the majority of these products originate in China.

Price increases are likely to kick in during the early part of the new year when new stocks arrive from overseas. The scale of the price rises are unclear at this stage, but mug prices will rise significantly.

If you are considering purchasing branded mugs or other promotional ceramic products, contact us now as we still have good  stocks available for most of our mug range at low prices.
